About Us

Green Dot Trust

Green Dot Trust is a not for profit voluntary organization started in 2008, by Dr C. K. Kantharaju at Mysore, Karnataka, registered under Sec 12 A of Income Tax Act.

Trust provides Geriatric service for aged women and bedridden, work for home for homeless mentally disabled persons, underprivileged women and tribal communities. We operate in Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan and Madikeri Districts of Karnataka. We have rehabilitated 67 women by providing food, shelter and basic amenities under geriatric service. Under Manasadhama program (Home for homeless mentally ill) Rescued 83 homeless mentally ill persons around Mysuru and successfully reintegrated 60 of them with their families. Currently there are 23 inmates at our transit care centre at Mysore. Apart from this 8100+ Corona tests have been done, nearly 11,000 people got vaccinated and more than 9000 people are screened in Outpatient department where we are managing a Primary Health Care centre at Madikeri under Arogya Bhandu Scheme. From the inception till today we have reached more than 30,000 beneficiaries.

Betterment of homeless, disabled and neglected individuals through holistic approach. Rescue, rehabilitation and reintegration of 500 homeless mentally ill individuals with their original families across India by 2025.




Our Programs

Nele- Old Age Home for Women

We run an old age home for aged and bed ridden women aptly called NELE at Mysuru. We provide shelter, food and medical care along with other basic amenities to elderly women who come to us in totally helpless situation. Currently we take care of 15 residents.

Manasadhama - Home for homeless mentally ill men

Manasadhama located at Chikkalli ,off T Narsipura road Mysore. It has a capacity to house 30 members. It is a Home for the homeless mentally ill Men. Rescue, Rehabilitate and Reintegration are the 3 major activities of Manasadhama. We have Transit Care Centre -for homeless mentally ill men where they will be provided with food, accommodation and psychiatric treatment after rescuing from the streets of Mysore and nearby cities.

Manasadhara - Day care centre for mentally ill persons, Mysore District

Manasadhara is a day care centre for mentally ill people located at Mysore, they will be engaged with occasional training and recreational activities like paper bag making, art and craft, playing carom and passing the ball. Centre opens at 9.30am and closes at 4pm free lunch will be provided and Psychologist will be available for the whole day.

Primary Health Care Centre, Kanoor

Green Dot Trust under ‘Aroghya Bhandu Scheme’ (Public Private Partnership) with Government of Karnataka managing Kanoor Primary Health Centre (PHC), Kodagu District, from September 2019. Kanoor PHC is located in southern part of Kodagu District, Virajpet taluk.

Starting of Ambulance Service at Kanoor PHC

On 11th January 2022, Green Dot Trust(r) handed over an Ambulance to Kannur PHC, Kodagu District at Kannur PHC premises. The program was attended by 12 staff members where the ambulance will benefit the public in and around Kannur Village. K G Bopaiah, MLA Virajpet was also present at the program.

Ambulance Donation by Mahindra Finance under its CSR activity

Green Dot Trust(r) on 9th December 2021, held an Ambulance donation ceremony by Mahindra Finance at Manasadhama premises, Chikkalli, Mysore. The program was coordinated by 11 staff members of Green Dot Trust(r) where an Ambulance was donated to the Trust by Mahindra Finance under its CSR activity. The service mainly aimed to serve the people who come under Kanoor Primary Health Centre. The ceremony was attended by Mr R.Vinayagam, Circle HR, Chennai Circle, Mahindra Finance Chennai. Mr Prasad, Circle Head Collection, Mahindra Finance Bangalore. Mr Amit HV, State HR, Mahindra Finance Mangalore. Mr Lakshmi Kiran, Area Accountant, Mahindra Finance, Mysore.

Inauguration of 'Kaveri' under Home Again Program

The Green Dot Trust(r) on 24-11-2021, inaugurated ‘Home Again program’ called ‘Kaveri’ in association with The Banyan NGO, based out of Chennai at our head office, Aravinda Nagar, Mysore. The program is to benefit those who are recovered from mentally-illness, to train them to lead a normal life again. The program was led by 8 members of the Green Dot Trust with the mission to help them. The program was initiated with 5 beneficiaries. Ms. Ramya, Psychologist & Mr. Saalih, Program Manager from The Banyan NGO were the dignitaries present at program.

Free Health Camp from Mysuru Medical College for Chikkalli Village People

On 6th November 2021, we conducted a free health checkup camp for Chikkalli village people including the inmates in our mentally ill transit care centre. Manasadhama(transit care centre), Chikkalli, Mysore. Mysore Medical College and Research centre, Mysore supported this initiative. 15 of our staff members were successful in reaching out to 80 beneficiaries.

Reintegration of Satish with his Family

Our beneficiary was Sathish, a 34 year old man from Channayyanakote Village, Virajpete taluk , Kodagu. Our initiative of Manasadhama program for homeless mentally ill men, helped him. With the assistance of the police, he was brought to our transit care centre, where he was treated and reintegrated with his family after rehabilitation. His family was overjoyed to have found their loved one after such a long time.

Covid Vaccination program for Tribes at Rani Gate, Koppa Grama Panchayathi, Piryapattana

The Green Dot Trust(r) on, 28th October 2021 conducted Covid19 Vaccination program at Rani Gate, Koppa Grama Panchayathi, Piryapattana. The program was held in view of the pandemic where tribal people are unable to avail the vaccination. The Green Dot Trust(r) members numbering 6 staffs conducted the drive aimed at reaching out to the tribal people of Rani Gate Village. The staff members were able to reach out to 22 people who were benefitted from the vaccination drive. Present at the vaccination drive were Asha Workers of Koppa Grama Panchayat.

Celebration of World Mental Health Day

On 12th October 2021, we organised a mental health day celebration. Our aim was to create awareness about mental health in society. This activity was conducted at Manasadhama - Home for Homeless Mentally Ill men(Transit Care Centre), Mysore. 8 of our staff members were successful in reaching out to 80 beneficiaries. Smt Saraswathi V Kosandar (District Judge), Sri Raveendra (Civil Judge, District Civil Court), Sri Dr KH Prasad (DHO), Sri Dr Manju Prasad and Sri Dr Bharath D were also present during this activity.

Ravindra Abhimanyu Bonde is back home

Our beneficiary was Raju- Ravindra Abhimanyu Bonde, a 48 year old man from Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Our initiative of Mansadhama (Home for Homeless Mentally Ill) helped him. He was treated, rehabilitated and re-integrated with his family. Being mentally-ill he was lost and had no family members to take care of him. Our organisation reached out to him and helped him in getting better. Later we contacted his family. They were happy that they found and got back their family member who was lost due to mental illness.

Distribution of Bed Sheets and Cloths

Shri Venkateshwara Charitable Trust , Mysore , had visited voluntarily and donated 23 Bed sheets and 23 pairs of cloths to our beneficiaries who are under treatment at our transit care centre for homeless mentally ill men located at Chikkahalli Mysore. This initiative took place on 23rd september, 2021. The main aim of this activity was to have interaction with beneficiaries and to donate bed sheets and clothes. 5 of our staff members were successful in reaching out to 23 beneficiaries.

Tree Plantation Drive at Simanahalli

On 14th September 2021, we conducted a tree plantation drive. Our aim was to create awareness among the Madilu Children's Home children about the environment and need of tree plantation. This activity was conducted in Somanahalli Village, HD Kote, Mysore. 10 members of our organisation worked for this initiative and successfully reached out to 150 beneficiaries. Mr. Nagendra Branch Manager, Mahindra Finance, Mysore. Mr. Amith HV, HR Manager, Mahindra Finance Mangalore were also present.

Independence Day Celebration at Manasadhama

On 15th August, 2021 we celebrated Independence day by conducting a flag hoisting ceremony. Afterwards we introduced our program to one of our prospective donors. This activity was conducted at Manasadhama - Home for homeless and mentally ill men , Chikkalli, off T. Narsipura road , Mysore. Many of these men have been abandoned by their families as they consider them as a liability. Therefore, we wanted to make them feel special. We thoroughly enjoyed this day with these men along with the RSS members. We strived each day to be of help and to provide our beneficiaries with the support that they needed in order to live healthy & full lives.

Training Program

On 7th July 2021 and 8th July 2021 we organized a training program for District and Taluka coordinators regarding COVID Lasika Andolana. It was conducted at Mysore District Panchayath Office mini meeting hall for 15 members who will reach out to the Mysore District population
